I checked out and called the folks at Inspirato. Very impressive for those in a position to splurge. I plan to use it mostly in Manhattan. $2500 a month, minimum of 6 month commitment. High end Homes, Apartments, Hotels and Cruises. If you work it right , you can get a yield of 10 to 15 nights in a given month. Value is about 3 times or more what you are paying. No long term commitments. For an extra $500, you can gift a month’s usage to someone else. As a Marriott Chairman, I plan to rent out my points to subsidize 6 month travel splurges. I had been looking for a Fractional in Manhattan and haven’t seen anything that would work for me. This is a global program if you care to use it that way .

At the end of the article where it talks about unsold hotel rooms and excess inventory, makes me think that this may be similar to timeshare trust inventory which are in shoulder and mud season.

For us, Manhattan is a draw 12 months of the year. If one of their cruises works for our flexible schedule, it will be well worth it.

The consumer market for this product sounds very narrow and from the article, business owners are an additional target where the value is in the cheap gifting of months. I could envision travel clubs forming for sharing a subscription. However this could ultimately kill the system.

Their current promo would include a 7th month, with a 6 month commitment. Once a member, if you have a reference come in with a 6 month commitment, they will credit you $1,000 for the referral from a payment.

Due to the pandemic , it is no longer a six month commitment. Not sure how long it will be offered on a month to month basis. Looks very appealing. In normal times, it includes high end cruises !

It's a $2500 enrollment fee and then $2500 per month. So to try it out for a month it would still be $5000.

I am skeptical about Inspirato. I looked at it and seems you can only plan 12 months in advance and only plan the next vacation after you finish the current one. I would also be cautious about available inventory. If you can afford $2500 a month ($30,000 a year), why not just pay as you go and get exactly what you want?

I didn't know about the enrollment fee. Thanks. Their partners are very high end. If you work it right, it seems like you would get a lot more value than the $2500 per month. These are legitimate 5 star places and when I checked, there was a ton of availability. Making it realistic to book 8 to 14 nights per month, with proper planning and flexibility. Take 10 nights for example which breaks your cost per night down to $250, for apartments and hotels that routinely would cost about triple that amount or maybe even more.
