I'm unable to redeem a generic Restaurant.com certificate---can you help me?

I have four different $25 'generic' restaurant.com certificates that I bought September 2009---they are all ten digits such as 141932xxxx.

I am trying to redeem one of them for an upcoming trip to a New Hampshire restaurant.

Here's instructions from a TUG thread from months ago:

"....Jot down the number of the generic GC (or copy). Then select a restaurant where you want to use it. When you check out just put (paste) the GC number in the box provided and print your restaurant-specific coupon. Nothin' to it."

Well----that's what I have tried, but it's not working, I'm gettting an error message that
"...The discount code you used is invalid. Please try again."

So, any advice from the restaurant.com experts here?

Thanks,
Pat

You could email or call restaurant.com customer service. They are very helpful.

Are you trying to redeem it at www.theidealmeal.com or at restaurant.com? I think the instructions have changed.

My instructions say:

1. Go to www.theidealmeal.com aned click on "Redeem Certificate."

2. Follow the easy online instructions to redeem your gift card code.

3. Search for a restaurant and print your certificate.

If your trying to put the code in the discount code section where you checkout, it won't work. You need to follow Denise's instructions or mine below. When redeeming a "gift" you have to enter the code on the first screen and then select the restaurant. Not the other way around as with a normal purchase with discount.

Here are the instructions sent to me when I received a generic cert

٭ In your Account Management page, under the red heading of “My Certificates,” click on the third option down, “Restaurant.com Gift Certificates - 2009 and after.”

٭ Write or copy the ten-digit number of the Restaurant.com gift certificate you would like to redeem.

٭ Click on “Redeem Gift,” which is the forth tab at the top of our home page

٭ Enter your ten-digit certificate code number

٭ Enter the security code provided on the site (Image Below) and click “Submit.”

Thanks!!!

And, since I won't remember next time----I'll just do a TUG 'searc' for this topic.

Thanks again,
Pat
