I have an OGS for a Feb 2026 week. I found a Jan 2026 week that I wouldn't mind taking then adding ePLus if a better week became available.

If I pick up the January week, what happens to my OGS? Do I need to cancel it before picking up the Jan 2026 week?

If you use the unit that has the pending request on it to make the trade, your OGS just goes away once you confirm. No need to cancel it first.

Thanks.

I believe I paid the exchange fee already on the OGS. Is that refunded? How long to receive?

Would it be easier if I added the resort and date to the OGS and let it pick it up? At what time are OGS matched?

Not sure how it really works since the fee has already been paid. It has been over a decade since we've paid an exchange fee. You can just try and and when you get to the last page, see if it is trying to charge the fee again. I suspect it won't be.

Your exchange and any other fee (eplus) will be refunded once the OGS is cancelled. It will go back to the same card that was charged. Time frame is the normal time it takes for a credit to show on your card as with any other refund (a few days).

So they'll need to pay the new fee when they confirm the trade and then the previously paid fee will be refunded?

One more question. When I try to search II using my search first 2026 week. The search engine will not let me search past Dec 31, 2026 to see Jan/Feb 2027. Is this because it is not deposited? Or is this a new "feature" to force an OGS exchange fee or deposit for weeks beyond the use week?

I think it may be because you have an OGS attached to an undeposited unit. Normally you can search for as far out as the calendar will allow.

If using the same unit that is being used for the OGS, the amount will be zero. No extra payment will be collected. Just click through to the payment screen and it will show zero.
However, if using a different unit, they will have to pay and after the OGS is cancelled, they will get a refund of all charges that was associated with the OGS.

No, if you use the unit that has the OGS attached to it you have already paid the exchange fee. You just click thru the confirmation as normal and at the end you will owe nothing. You could add eplus at that time.

This one is a little tricky to answer. It likely depends on what year was selected during the creation of the OGS especially if you have EOY. Look at the details of the OGS and see what deposit date is used.

Very helpful info. It was a 2026 SDO week. I have an annual contract.

I also noticed in my Vistana account that I do not have the OGS specified week available. Is signing up for OGS the same as depositing the week? i.e. If I cancelled the OGS could it go back into my Vistana account?

The same thing happens with Marriott ongoing searches. They remove it from your MVC or Vistana account so you don't try and do something else with it as they've already verified the deposit. If you cancel your OGS it may take a few days to show back up in your Vistana account. At least that is how it works with MVC weeks. It can sometimes take up to a week for MVC. Perhaps Vistana is faster.

I don't think they've changed anything. With Request First you can place a vacation request and travel from two years before the week you offer in exchange up until the dates of that week. Since it is your 2026 week, the latest possible week you can deposit would be Dec 31, 2026. You have to exchange for something before that date. Can you see Jan/Feb 2027 when you do a request first search with your 2027 week?
