I have the opportunity to get an extra certificate if I deposit one of my weeks right now. I was going to deposit anyways but am trying to decide if the extra week is worth it for me. I could book a higher TDI week and not get the certificate or book a slightly lower TDI to get the certificate. Is there any possibility of getting a week in Hawaii (during low season) with this certificate? I know there is an option to put in a request so maybe there is a chance for off season? I travel to various islands in Hawaii twice a year and would want to use this to add an extra week on to one of my trips but if Hawaii is a blocked destination then I wont bother. Has anyone received one of these and been able to use it book into any Island in Hawaii?
You should get a certificate that "sees" more inventory than the freebie ones that II drops into everyone's accounts. That said, Hawaii weeks are few and far between, and will be last minute weeks. I just reviewed the terms & conditions of my remaining AC that I received when I deposited a week and Hawaii was not on their "grid" of places that can be requested, but I can say for certain, Hawaii weeks show up every once in a while. It is not reliable and you certainly can't count on anything.
I believe that the current offer expires on June 15, so you should have some time to decide. Also, for trading power, don't wait past 6 months before check in to deposit your week. The best inventory will be available less than 60 days out, but you will see some nice inventory. It just won't be Hawaii. Recent Hawaii weeks that I have seen are Ke Nani Kai in March, Kahana Villa just popped up for a week in March, and I have seen Pono Kai on Kauai. I have never seen any Marriott Hawaii weeks.
