Has anyone recently been successful in trading a MVC property via II into a Vidanta property, specifically Grand Luxxe?

I'm starting to think these may not be coming back to II. Hopefully II told them to go pound sand with their huge resort fee gouge. Opting not to send them guests to try and hook into a high pressure sales pitch all while expecting the guest to also pay for such a privilege.

I’m thinking you’re right - Interesting that Interval International’s new magazine featured a one page Vidanta ad, and all the Vidanta resorts are still listed in the online resort directory.

I did notice them still in the directory. Though I hadn't looked at the magazine. Chances are that magazine was already planned and printing started before the changes in resort fee happened. I hope for many the resorts show back up. I hope that the big fee doesn't. I suspect though that if they do come back the fees will match RCI.

So a question: What is the largest resort fee of any II resort outside Vidanta? DVC has $190, but I suspect that's not the highest.
I think the Four Seasons properties are $40 a day. So that is $280 for a seven night stay. There was also a resort posted on TUG in the last week or so that was $30 a day ($210 for a week).

I haven't seen Vidanta show up recently in any search. We exchanged into a 2 Bedroom Bliss/Mayan Palace Riviera Maya on a certificate for this past March, and there seemed to be tons of availability when we made the reservation (late last year). The fees were a little higher than others, but honestly not as high as I've seen some quote for RCI (which sound ridiculous). And because we used a certificate, we still felt like we got a decent deal overall.

It does seem like all the resorts - not just Vidanta - are ramping up their resort fees in general for II trades. Although they quote the fees in dollars, though, for Mexican resorts you can pay the fees in pesos at the hotel, and it comes out a little cheaper.

I really kind of hate the resort fees, especially for an exchange - that's insane. But without a law being passed, they're just not going to stop. If you're going to break out these fees like this, let me pay for what I use, i.e. I'll pay for the pool / hot tub, but would pass on the basketball court or whatever the supposed fee is for.

My post is specifically questioning the ability/non ability to deposit a MVC week for trade into a Vidanta property. I am NOT at this point addressing resort fees. Why are the Vidanta resorts listed in the online II membership directory if indeed one is unable to reserve a week at any of their properties? The other timeshare exchange companies still do business with Vidanta (albeit with exhorbitant exchange fees).

We understand that wasn't your question. But some of us suspect that the answer to this question...
Why are the Vidanta resorts listed in the online II membership directory if indeed one is unable to reserve a week at any of their properties?
...is that "II refuses to list exchange inventory with the exorbitantly high fees that Vidanta is currently charging to guests from other exchange companies."

But the real answer is: no one knows. Just because something is in the directory, that doesn't mean there will be inventory deposited from that resort when you go looking. Will there be later? No one knows that either.

Either keep looking, place an ongoing search, or pick some other vacation destination.

There are a lot of resorts listed in the resort directory that literally never or rarely come up for exchange. Sometimes, the resort companies are listed but don't make bulk deposits, and it is pure luck if an owner happens to deposit a week you might want. Vidanta resorts weren't particularly difficult to trade into last year on II or previous years, regardless of whether you owned MVC or not. This year, we are letting you know that we haven't seen any weeks available, which is unusual, but may change in the near future. The resort fee change happened around the same time the availability of Vidanta weeks vanished on Interval -- so there may have been a change in the way Vidanta is operating this year.
