I have been offered AC’s for deposits of my other timeshares, but not for my Sheraton Broadway. Are they ever offered?

I am never offered AC's for SBR. I think it's because it's deposited as a generic week and can be deposited up to the end of the use year. If we made a reservation and could deposit it into II as a specific date, we would get AC's for our deposits.

My Marriott resorts all get deposit AC's but I don't use them. I can never figure out how to use those to my advantage. The Marriott resorts are usually not choices. If I could get Marriott, I would absolutely use them.

Same for me with SDO. I have never had an AC offer for that property.

Cindy - usually an AC for deposit will allow an OGS. That's their best feature, plus you have a full year to work with.

Yeah but they also come with so many exclusions which make OGS request impossible to finish (when adding resorts of high quality like Marriott). Though I’ve heard people got DVC on OGS on AC, I was never able to add DVC to it.

True, but there are other choices that may be worthwhile for $400ish. I figure out where we want to go then look at reviews of whatever is available in Interval, then compare those resort codes to the list of exclusions. I agree that it's tedious, but once you get your "list" it's easy enough to cut/paste the resort codes. The most time consuming part is getting the T&C in any kind of useful format. I copy and paste it into excel and use that as a starting point but it is unnecessarily tedious.

Also, Marriotts and DVC will occasionally be available with an AC (and AC for deposit definitely has more trading power than the generic ACs) but those will be last minute. For an OGS there's no point in trying to add them - they are almost always listed as unavailable in the T&C and will make you start your OGS again. Those will be something that you will have to look for manually.

So you have some successful stories to share? I’m curious how far in advance will II match your OGS on AC (there are very little inventory for AC to do instant exchange > 60 days out) If you can use it, it definitely saves a real deposit.

I had given up on using OGS with the deposit ACs, until I saw the example of DVC being matched for a March date in the prior Sept. I find they have better inventory in the 10-12 month period than you might expect. Morritts, grand cayman, 1-bed and Studios in Nov and Dec, including thanksgiving are easily available. I find MVC available if you do a manual search so ignore the exclusion list as all that does is stop you adding them into the OGS. I got a Studio at MVF for mid April that was available the prior Dec. I've also seen the Renaissance Aruba for May available 3-4 months in advance.

I remember the day when AC's were so valuable, I could book DWL for two back-to-back weeks with AC's. Those were the days. Queue Jean Stapleton's rendition of that song from All in the Family. :)

For me it’s been multiple weeks at Northstar to visit our kids in Truckee. We travel off season though. I have stayed there on a regular exchange in the summer but never again for us. It was super noisy.

Additionally I have used an instant exchange a few months out for New Orleans and another week in Sedona. About a year out I booked Casa Dorada in Cabo for early May. We are fairly easy going travelers though - we like new places and for $400 I will overlook a lot. I rarely let one of these go unused but I don’t even try using the freebies. They are very limited.
