Interesting comparison of cash rates for a Kimpton hotel going through IHG to using points and money. The cash rate is $466 per night, but the "best value" for points and money gets it "down" to $519 per night if you add in 38,000 points per night. If it's the best value I guess I should choose that one....

... for those that are interested, that makes IHG points value -$0.0014 per point when used at the "best value". The other combinations do provide a positive value.
 
Not interested in negative value points lol. I've never seen something like that before. I've played with points and money on Hilton Honors, but really feel like it's only worth full points redemption because otherwise the taxes kill a lot of the "value".
