If you cancel a reservation that has days that are currently unavailable in the availability grid, does it instantly show available?

I have a booking with bonus points from Dec 19th - 22nd, but I want to change it to my regular annual points. The 20th currently shows not available. If I cancel will it immediately go to available so I can try to instantly book it again with my annual points?
 
It's been my experience that it can take 10 minutes to come back as available.
 
Yes, a CSR can do it immediately
 
My experience has been that it can take anywhere from 5-20 minutes for the inventory to show up back online if you cancel via the web (10 minutes is a good average).

However do not do this on a Sunday evening (maybe all day Sunday) as it may well take until Monday morning to come back. I have one data point on this (after several during the week that worked just as others have said) and another member has faced this as well.

It could be a coincidence, but it seems faster if I logout and then log back in after canceling.
This could be due to caching on the website. Try holding the control key and pressing F5 to refresh the page. In a lot of sites that use caching, it forces the site to bypass the cache and reload the page (and data). After you log out, the cache would be cleared so it has to do the full reload also.
 
I was able to get a CSR to do it for me today, but she was so slow, I was worried it would not work. Since it is bonus points, I will have to call each day to have them 'walk' it for me.
