Somone told me that when you buy resale, that the points are not tranferrable to say Hyatt Golf Passport, nor can the points be accumulated (ie 1889 for a gold 2 br week) for other hyats. Any comments?

Thx

When you buy resale the ONLY provision that does not transfer is the Hotel program. You can't use timeshare points to stay in a Hyatt hotel. Everything else is the same as if you purchased from Hyatt directly.

To me that's no big deal as you pay a heavy price to use timeshare points to stay in a hotel. You give up one week of a 2 BR/ 2 bath time share unit with living room, dining room, full kitchen, etc. for 3-5 days in a single hotel room.

Thx Kal, so i would be best off getting the most bang for my buck at a resale such as the older Hyatt's in Key West, correct?

That's the best way to buy if you want to rely on points usage. Now if you really like one particular unit and week at one resort, then the best way would be to buy that unit preferably resale, but if unavailable thru Hyatt.
