Any suggestions how to get from KEF airport to cruise port terminal and not to spend a fortune? We have about 5 hours for trsfr and are not interested in touring Reykjavík this time. Thanks in advance.

we just left reykjavík but it was a stop for us. We took bus at the bus terminal at reykjavik for blue lagoon and saw there was bus to and from Reykjavik bus station to the airport. while waiting for another tour at the cruise terminal stop, saw there was a sign for last minute tours and transfer to the airport. i didn’t look into it further as we are not leaving for airport.
you can try to google it. or try to see whether there is anything at bustraveliceland.com (bus travel Iceland). good luck

Claude (AI) suggests (assuming this is for two people):

For two people, I'd recommend booking a **shared airport transfer directly to the cruise terminal** (~$35-45 per person, so $70-90 total for both of you).

This is your best option because:
- Door-to-door service with no transfers or luggage hassles
- Only about $20-30 more than public transport when split between two people
- Much more convenient and comfortable
- Still way cheaper than a private taxi ($120-150)

**Book in advance online** with companies like Gray Line Iceland, Airport Express, or RE/X (Reykjavik Excursions) for the best rates.

With 5 hours for your transfer, you'll have plenty of time and arrive at your cruise ship relaxed and ready to go!

So what are you going to do? Hang in the terminal? You pay lots to get there, so take the cheapo bus to the bus station and jump in a taxi and see SOMETHING! You could see a museum especially if you drop your bags at the ship. Or go to a pub and meet Icelanders.

Life's too short to put off living.

Jim, we have been to Reykjavik many times on two day stop over to Europe; we love Iceland and vacationed there twice for a week with our daughter. This time we want to reach the port after overnight flight, board the ship at lunch time and go back to city center in the afternoon. Greenland! here we come.

OK. Understood. I wasn't aware that you are experienced Iceland hands. Still, boarding at noon then going back ashore strikes me as iffy. I still stand by the suggestion of the airport bus to the bus station, then a taxi for the short ride to the cruise terminal.

Decision made. I booked the most FLEXIBLE option for my situation, a cruise company transfer after I researched number of options. Thanks Tuggers for many suggestions.
