I wish I could see availability for Marriott resorts in weeks without a week available to use

This has always been a problem for me as an owner of Marriott weeks. Once I use my week, I can no longer check availability for other dates. I just bought an additional week and wanted to ask the seller to reserve a week for me, and I cannot see inventory because I already booked my weeks for winter.

Vistana weeks and points availability can be seen anytime.

Yep, that's how it has always been since I started reserving online a couple of decades ago (IIRC).

Yes, we are points owners, and similarly, you can't see availability for anything beyond what your available points. As an owner, I would much rather see all the availability so I can decide whether to rent points. Heck, even from a sales perspective, I would think it would be better to show all the cool stuff they could book if they owned more points or weeks.

I just had this issue for the 2 weeks I'm waiting to transfer. It's been a full 90 calendar days but they'r quoting 90 business days. Fortunately the seller and agent have been great. I just gave them parameters and asked them to reserve at 13 months out which they did and I have my weeks. I do not have my preferred check in days but might not have been able to do so even if I'd been the one calling.

Yes this is also an issue if you want to change your date and would like to see what else is available.

I am happy to know I am not the only one that feels this frustration. I don't understand why there is no calendar to see available weeks, including the ability to change a week, as noted by @davidvel.

It seems illogical that you cannot change weeks to another date without cancelling the current reservation first, but maybe Marriott figures people would be doing it so much, it would be a computer issue.

Have you tried using another ownership (with a high trade value) to see what is available for your selected range of dates? It might not be as accurate as your Marriott availability, but it might show something close to your dates of interest. I've done this, and it may take a while for your dates of interest to show up using a non-Marriott ownership.

@rickandcindy23 You are talking about booking your owner week right? (@mauitraveler)
I know they can check for you if you call, but have you asked via chat? That would be a bit easier- still not ideal.

I will call and ask what's available. We are waiting for ROFR, which should occur soon, then I will be able to book something. I think the spring break week I hoped to get will be gone.

I am hoping it doesn't pass ROFR with Marriott. We will know within about 3 days. The selling price was very low, 10% of what I paid about five years ago for the same week resale.

Sorry, I misread the post. I was thinking about I.I. availability. Yes, it's frustrating, but calling would be a possible solution.

What did you purchase and at what price?

Shadow Ridge platinum 2 bed, $304, closing costs included, and I bought from Kushman's company in Montana, a great company and Resort Closings is good.
