I own biennial, can i only deposit my next year's week into II in my use year(next year)?

I paid my MF for next year and i have some banked points from last year. I was told I can't deposit into Interval until next year. The person i talked to said it's an Interval thing. I know it varies by brand but is this common? I hope I'm making sense! Thanks
