The FBI is directing me to immediately accept my Nigerian Inheritance - Apparently by not complying, I am breaking some kind of US law! Who knew? :D

Oh, you definitely don't want to get in the FBI's bad books!

I think you should claim it Denise and then share it with all your TUG friends.

Just send me $2000

Denise,I am prepared to help you receive your $10,000,000,
Just send $2000 to pay for my travel expenses to help you out.Your private bailout money is coming soon.

I think I saw a place on the 1040 for listing Nigerian income.:p

I wonder how I ever lost track of good ole Ugo?

See, these are usually just some type of scam. I am SO happy that my ship came in via Western Union and Mrs Ugo (whom I apparently know from many years ago but had somehow forgotten). Just as soon as my $700,000 Euro's are in I'll be happy to give you a hand to get your situation settled. I just have to find all my ID's, passport, license and bank numbers so I can complete the simple transaction. Should be anytime now. I'll be back with you soon (and far richer I'm sure).

OK, you sucked me in and I had to check my spam box to see the latest method of trying to part me with my money. It appears that they recognize appealing to my inner sense of greed no longer works and now are working on my conscience - which oddly they haven't done much of in the past. Mrs. Lucia Adams, who is married to a diplomat says:
Before I became ill,I kept $5 Million in along-term deposit account in a finance/security company .Presently, I,m in ahospital where I have been undergoing treatment for oesophageal cancer. I have since lost my ability to talk and my doctors have told me that I have only a few months to live.
It is my last wish to see this money distributed to charity organizations,as relatives and friends have plundered so much of my wealth since my illness, I cannot live with the agony of entrusting this huge responsibility to any of them. Please, I beg you for the sake of humanity to help me collect the deposit and the interest accrued from the company and distributes it amongst charity organizations.

If something were to happen to Ms. Adams for the sake of humanity, I think I know what most of us would want.

These are getting so old, they are boring. Makes you wonder what kind of person falls for this anymore. But the FBI twist is interesting, haven't seen that one yet.

I'm so glad to hear that so many Nigerians are not dying in plane crashes like they used to. That's where all my inheritance offers came from.

How much in euro's will it cost you to clear your name?

I'm sure there are people who fall for this - it makes me so mad and sad.

Mrs. Arafat (wife of Yassir Arafat) sent us an e-mail, and while not nigerian, she seems to have had the same problems as all these other people. I don't recall the exact amount but it was multiple millions and she wanted to give it to me just for sending her 10k to grease some wheels at the bank. There are so many of these e-mails going round it's ridiculous.

Perhaps since he has your e-mail address he could mail you a PayPal payment. You would then log into your PayPal account directly (and not through any link he provides) and get your money. Oh, and one of these days I'm going to receive that bridge I bought....I just know it. :)

I have to wonder why I'm the lucky person who was contacted by the wife/daughter/banker of the deposed/dead/exiled governor/ruler/leader of Nigeria/The Ivory Coast/Ghana. It must be because I'm so trustworthy/honest/reputable and of high morals. :D

These scammers are much less dangerous than the phishing emails that request you to log in immediately to correct your banking information, etc. I would think many more people fall for those scams than these Nigerian/British/Whoever, requests that appeal to greed. I get those phishing emails daily, usually from banks that I don't deal with.

I love the one I got this mornng, that was DEMANDING that I connect IMMEDIATELY to verify my email address. The fact that it was from a website I'd never heard of, and the email didn't offer or explain anything at all about WHY they wanted me to verify my address, only makes me wonder if anyone ever falls for such a thing. And other than targeting me for a truckload of spam and whatever, what the possible reason would be for me to do that. I mean - duh?

So I gave them DeniseM's email address instead. :hysterical:

Paypal is always warning me that someone has processed a false transaction. Funny, when I log onto my account (not through the link that they provide in the email) all seem fine. Huh. Isn't that strange. ;)

Not sure, but I think some spam may be linked to the image provoked by the email address.

Cutekitty or prettygirl may get cosmetic or implant offers, while machoman and mountainboy may get more emails for Viagra and enhancement of other body parts ;)

Wouldn't you like to know where they got your email address? I hope not from TUG.....

Part of getting e-mail addresses is just a matter of sending e-mails to xxxx@xxxx.com and getting a hit. I've had friends who would get telemarketing calls and ask "how did you get this number, its unlisted" well the answer is they dialed 617-555-XXXX and the phone rang. The telemarketer had no way of knowing that a particular number was listed or unlisted.

Did you hear about the scam where someone tries to sell mortgage securities on properties that are over valued and where the mortgage can't be paid to big big American and Multinational Banks? WHO WOULD BE STUPID ENOUGH to FALL FOR THAt!:hysterical:

If you send me $5,000, I'll ensure that the FBI doesn't prosecute you for this offense.
