In the world of Radios, Old Tube Radios are referred to as boat anchors because they are so heavy. This one weighs in at 33 pounds. Lol
I have always wanted one and since we moved to Hawaii, I was always a little reluctant to get one since the shipping is so far. But, I finally found one that I thought was a great deal and worth the risk.
It came early this afternoon. It took most of the afternoon making room on my desk and moving all the wires around for my antennas. I was able to turn it on at about 5:30pm. A little early for shortwave but I was able to get some stations after getting used to the adjustments that have to be made on this radio. All in all, I’m really happy with it and glad I took the chance on it.
Here's WBCQ on 9330 kHz from Monticello Maine.
