I don't know if this should be here since it is travel related or if it should be in the West section since that is the area affected.
If anyone from the west is driving to Colorado for sking or anything else, I-70 was closed last night due to a major rock slide in Glenwood Canyon. Small little rocks, the largest one is estimated to be 66 tons! At this time they don't know how long it will be closed. If you are headed to the Vail or Breckenridge area from the west you will have to take an alternate route until they reopen I-70.
The last time this happened they reopened the highway a few days later with two way traffic on the eastbound lanes. The reports say that there are holes in both the eastbound and westbound lanes this time so I don't know if that will work.
One of several reports can be found here - http://cbs4denver.com/local/Major.rock.slide.2.1544928.html
