I'll post a review at some point (I tend to get long winded so I want to set aside some time for it), but I just returned from Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch, and we absolutely loved it.
I haven't seen much about it on this forum, so just wanted to give it a bit of a shout out.
We had a total of 5 units for family and friends and everyone had a fantastic time. A few things we loved:
1) The lazy river. It's a lot shorter than coconut cove (I would estimate about half the length). I can't quite pinpoint why, but I think I may have liked the lazy river at wild oak ranch a bit more. I think it may be more consistently fast in parts -- anyhow, I could spend hours here and love it.
The beach area was fun too -- younger kids could hang out there and join in for a few laps around the lazy river. I really wish Coconut Cove had a little beach area like this.
2) The fire pits. There are four of them, and we went just about every night. We never had an issue finding an open fire pit.
3) Activities. While, I do think they could do a few more activities during the week, it was fun. They had an escape room set up and we had a lot of fun with it. I think HVC could learn a thing or two from Marriott about fun activities.
4) The pool and water slides. I'm not sure what the occupancy was, but there was never a line of more than a few kids to do the waterslides.
5) The unit was great! The layout reminded of coconut cove.
All things considered, I can't think of a better timeshare resort for families to visit outside of Florida (we love the Orlando Marriott Resorts and Crystal Shores).
I was also pleasantly surprised by San Antonio. We were there for 4 nights, and we could have easily stayed another 4-5 nights and had plenty to do.
