Okay, we just bought 1750 points in San Antonio. Was told we could exchange easily through interval for cruises etc. Trying to figure out if this was a mistake while we can rescind.

If you didn't go into the sales meeting knowing what you wanted to buy and that the price you got was the best for your needs, you probably overpaid by 50-100%.
You have a limited time to rescind, but will be stuck with the costs forever if you proceed. It might be a good deal for you, but until you do the research to find out, best to assume its not. They will take your money another day if you decide you want to proceed later, and there are thousands of other choices you can make via the resale market that might do you better.
Yes you can easily exchange for Cruises via II, but it is almost universally a bad deal compared to other platforms.
Hyatt is a relatively expensive system to own in, and very complicated.
All the best, have a read on the Hyatt forums to see if that gives you more insight if you want.

Cancel/rescind while you can. time is limited. You can then take all the time you need to research what you might want to buy. Certainly look at resale. Portfolio points are expensive. You can buy a deeded Hyatt week resale for a fraction of the cost and still get points. Don’t believe what the sales people say about resale timeshares. They only want to sell you what they have and will make up stuff about how resales have all kinds of restrictions. There might be some restrictions, but not usually enough to justify the extra tens of thousands of dollars you need to spend to buy retail.

Rescind. Cruises is one of the worst ways to use your points. You will do better in the long run just buying a cruise -- what you pay in cash to pay with points is more than buying a cruise.

If you decide you still want those points later, they'll be available.
