In using Hyatt points, i have heard that these are the best bang for your buck.( I would have to rent points) Are 3 and 4 night stays only during the week? Or can they fall over a weekend? I know some resorts make you also pay a nightly fee. If you are staying in a TS unit do you also have to pay the extra nightly fee? Tax? If you are wanting a 3 bedroom/lockout, how much should you pay per point?
Thanks for any info!

Does Hyatt owners even have a points rental system for non-owners, like DVC or even Marriott does?

If so, this is the first I am hearing of this.

I don't really understand your post. However, Hyatt 3 night stays are weekend stays. Four night stays are weekday stays. In both instances, possible check in days vary by resort.

Hyatt rentals are typically not per point. A reservation is made for x number of days for x price total. This will vary by resort, unit size & season. See
Redweek for an idea of prices. Maybe someone out there is renting by the point but I've never seen a rental price in HVC expressed that way.

Four night rentals are bargains for Hyatt owners and would probably be cheaper per night than 3 night rentals which are "expensive" points-wise.

We as you can tell I am not familiar with the point system. I guessed points are based on a dollar amount, so that is not the case? To get this resort at a certain time, for these days etc. It costs this many points. So, does that not equate, points to dollars? We have always dealt with timeshare "weeks" trades.

Maybe Hyatt weeks or partial weeks logically should rent by the point, it just seems they don't for whatever reason.

I would suggest that you try to check out Redweek prices to get an idea of rental rates. FYI, the 4 week nights generally "cost" the Hyatt owner 40% of the total weekly points "price," plus at some resorts, a split week cleaning fee (generally at the resorts that do not have daily housekeeping). So if you are looking at prices to get in idea of rental value, you could take the 40% of the full week rate.

For internal Hyatt exchanges, Hyatt will not always split holiday weeks more than 60 days out, so this may affect availability, depending on what week you are looking for. Also, some Hyatt resorts are nearly impossible for club members to book.

Once you figure out what would be a reasonable price, you need to find a Hyatt owner who has the points to your reservation. You could post something to the Yahoo Hyatt list (I will help you do this, pm me) or FB page. You could search TUG BBS for Hyatt owners and PM them. Or maybe contact some renters (as in "landlords") out there and see if they will book for you.

Good luck.
