Resorts Owned
Liki Tiki Village - now Aqua Sol in Orlando. Owned by Hilton - former Diamond Resorts
We own at Liki Tiki Village in Orlando near Disney Animal Kingdom - now called Aqua Sol, purchased 2002 so fully paid off 3-bedroom, annual usage 12,000 points, annual maintenance $2, 445. It has been through many ownership changes over the years - last was Diamond to Hilton Vacation Club. We no longer can go and want to get out of it. They have a Transitions team where you can "apply" to give it back. We meet all of their qualifications, but how does this work? Would it be better to try to give it away here? We do not want the hassle of renting it out. Thanks in advance.

I think from my POV I'd always give the free forum a go, why not pay it forward to someone else if they can make use of it? Give it a couple months or so, and if no bites, then I would contact the transitions team.

nothing wrong with pursuing both options, whichever one works out sooner/better would be the winner. either way you have a new home for your timeshare.
