I have some questions about how the search requests are implemented on HVC/DRI side. My understanding is that owners can put in a search request (maybe more depending on their status) that will get fulfilled at 10-months or later. So there are the questions:
  • Will the request automatically be booked when available?
  • Will the request be pulled out of inventory, if it doesn't automatically book?
  • Are there restrictions on these search requests, such do you need to request a full week or something else?

As of right now, only the upper tiers get the searches. Standard membership does not. Hopefully answering your questions, here is a chat I had with a Club Counselor:


I have some questions about how the search requests are implemented. Will the request automatically be booked when available? Search requests are based off of cancelations of reservations for the date inquiring. You do not need it to be full week, minimum for reservations are 2 nights.

Ok. Do they automatically get booked, or you just get a notification of availability?

Once notified by email, the reservation is pending until you contact us to guarantee, points are grabbed while pending as well.

OK. Thank you! How long do we have to respond to the pending reservation?

Depends on your dates of reservation. It will not hold for the actual dates of reservation. So, it's good to respond immediately once you receive the email
