How to use Bonus Points- Embarc Member

I cannot find any way of using my Bonus Points. They do not show up anywhere to use them, not even for a Hilton Honors conversion. I cannot tell if or when they would expire either. Any thoughts?

When you are using the booking screen, did you change the point type to bonus?

Can you show me a screen example with that choice? I cannot find a place to change my points type except 2025 points or 2026 points.

Yes, that is my normal portal. I did get an answer finally from HGVC. It is a glitch that their IT has not fixed yet. The Bonus points were included in my normal year allotment. The problem is that the Bonus Point field did not reduce to zero as points were used.

And usually bonus points are good for 2 years so make sure that they give you access to them for that period

For Embarc, normally you should be able to use your bonus points seamlessly simply by making a booking. Sorry I didn't see this sooner, happy to see that it was a glitch and that member services was able to give you an answer.

Some info for newer owners, the Bonus points will appear to expire in the calendar year. I even got a reminder email from HGVC to be sure to use them up. I asked on a phone call if they would roll-over to next year on December 31, and they said yes. I have done that once before. This year, the staff member offered to roll-them-over right away. They did and now I do not have to look at the balance any more.

The expiry date was never made clear. If I had to guess, they would expire at the end of the 2nd calendar year. As Embarc members, we had to plan to carry-over our points to a 2nd year by September 1st. "Bonus points" were given as incentives when buying additional regular points. But, they were just added to the year's allotment. There was nothing special about them. Bonus points seem to be a HGVC thing.

HGVC made our membership very complicated. Our Embarc year started on April 1st. All of our vacations were ski holidays and completed between January and March. So we were traveling on last years points, as it were. When HGVC wanted all member's years to be aligned with calendar years, we got screwed over. We had to use two years worth of points in one year.
