Twice I've had to talk to a human at Amazon. If you go to their website to find a number, good luck with that.

TIP #1: Amazon's customer service phone number is 1-888-280-4331, and that number is live 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
TIP #2: Get tired of prompts for a voice response. Just say "blah, blah, blah" real fast until they forward you to a human.

So the first time I had to talk to them was when I ordered a new Google Pixel phone. The Google box arrived with the sealing tape cut, and except to the manual, the box was empty. o_O When I got through to a human, they were very apologetic and ordered another, no charge. I received a non-empty box the next day.

Today was the second time I had to talk to a human. I had received a Ring Doorbell and found out it wasn't compatible with my doorbell transformer. I had returned it with their mailing label. At first the return status said they had received it and were processing the return. A couple of weeks later I checked the status, and it looked like I had requested a return, but they hadn't received the package yet. When I got through to a human, they were courteous and manually issued a refund.

Once you get to customer service, they can be very responsive to your complaint.

Getting through to a human is hard enough, I even have a hard time finding customer service numbers on a lot of websites. They make you click through a whole bunch of pages or even manually search to find this stuff now. It is like they don't even want to take your call. They think if they make it hard enough, most people will give up. Unfortunately this is true.

This site has the phone numbers and procedures for many major companies.

When I installed my ring doorbell, I had a similar problem. It worked but was marginal and I think that I was getting some sort of alert. So, I replaced the transformer. IMHO, I think that this is a design weakness.

The hardest part of the replacement was finding where the doorbell transformer was installed. I located it inside a closet but it was located on the wall that you didn't see when you looked into the closet - - it was on the backside. So, from memory (I had designed the house and had drawn up the plans), I kind of remembered (from about 20 years earlier) where they had located it, but didn't remember that it was on the backside of the wall above the closet doors.

After several unsuccessful searches, I found my doorbell transformer. The wall behind the furness in the basement has a switch so you can turn off the furness for service. I found where the doorbell wire came into the basement and traced it through the wall. The transformer was mounted on the top of the box for the furness switch. I removed the doorbell wire, pulled it back and out of the wall, and attached it to a new transformer. Now the Ring App says it's getting a healthy 24V instead of the 10-12V it got from the original transformer. :whooopie:

The number I use for Amazon Customer Service is 1-800-280-4331

Never had a problem connecting to a human.

I too have looked under contact us and then they call me right back!!

Amazon is making it harder to contact them, return items, and their prices are getting higher.

What's next? People shopping at Walmart.com?

I do that! I love the order and pick up option. Used it yesterday. I got the notice to pick up within an hour of ordering. Also- one item wasn’t available after I ordered, so they are shipping it to me for free.

I also go to eBay more. In fact, just ordered a fit bit watch for my husband last night. The one he had stopped charging. Better prices and availability than Amazon and Walmart. And free shipping..

Btw-today I received that order that they didn’t have yesterday for pick up shipped by Federal Express. Now that’s service!
