I'm trying to rent out my Grandview, one bedroom unit for 7 days. The only way I know how to do it is to go through RCI, They're charging me an exchange fee, guest certificate fee and points insurance. The total comes to $439.00 & 61,000 points. If I can't rent out my unit, I lose. all the money, but I get my 61,000 points back. This doesn't seem right to me. There has to be a different way, It's costing way too much money to rent my unit. Is there another way besides going through RCI to rent out a timeshare? The simple answer is no according to RCI. If you get caught, they will revoke your membership and cancel the exchange you made, thus will result in some very unhappy renters. You can gift it to someone with a gift certificate.
If my renter has a guest certificate could that still violate the RCI rules?
