How to Rent my Bluegreen Timeshare

I've been a BG owner for about 15 years and have pretty much always used my points one way or another. This year we were not able to use all our points and ended up loosing some. If this becomes the case in the future, I want to understand how to rent my resort. I rented through BG once but didn't really get any cash to speak of. I live in Charleston, SC where we have 2 resorts one of which is my home resort. Appreciate any wisdom others may have gained.

I would think that if you had booked the points early enough in a desirable location at a peak time when there is no inventory; you would be able to rent those nights out?
