How to rent a Disney resort timeshare?

My family and I are looking to rent a 2bd/2ba room at a Disney resort this December. We have contacted Timeshare Adventures but after doing some research, before we sent them a cashiers check for the FULL amount, I am now skeptical due to the really bad reviews I found of the company. I found several ads for our time frame at vacationtimesharerentals.com and have contacted an owner. I don't want to get screwed out of thousands of dollars. How should I proceed and what should I expect from this transaction?

There are points brokers who do this safely.
One of them is David or Daddio at dvcbyrequest.com
There are others but he's the one that I know best.
He is frequently on many of the Disney boards.
Nice guy to work with. :)

the period from thanksgiving to new years is probably THE busiest season for DVC points bookings. many owners book at 11 months out, so i'm not sure there would be much left at this point from a legitimate renter...maybe saratoga springs resort as that is the largest DVC resort, just don't get your hopes up.

but for reliability, i would also recommend going with david also at dvcbyrequest.com.

If you'd rather work with an owner directly (and save a little money) you can find them at either disboards.com or mouseowners.com

But, you are quite likely too late for this December unless you are very flexible.
