How and where we travel has changed and we are considering selling our two weeks [Details deleted to remove appearance of an ad.] They have been good traders for us. We typically get ACs for the deposits as well. We will get to retain our weeks that are already deposited in II, correct? Any tips as we think through the possibility of selling? I sold a DVC week many years ago, but that was through a company that primarily handles Disney.

Thanks!

There are many ways you can market your week; TUG, eBay, Craigslist, etc.

Once you find a buyer you may want to have a "middleman" handle the escrow and transfer process. Suggest you use Legal Title Transfers (well recommended). I will leave you the LT Transfer website below and you can check them out for yourself:

I'd first investigate the value of each then maybe list on redweeks & TUG. You may also want to get with 1 or more resale companies that are more Marriott specific and recommended here. Others can give you their recommendations since I don't have any experience on the sales side or any specific ones to recommend. You might also consider listing with MVC directly.. ALWAYS avoid any company who charges a fee to list, almost always it's a scam and always it's a bad idea. I would venture a guess that you're looking at around $6-7K total sales minus any costs or commissions.

I have sold and given away Marriott timeshares on RedWeek and Tug. I also used L T Transfer to buy or sell timeshares or to change names on a deed. The best thing is to see what the unit you have is selling for and then be in that range. (lower if you want to sell it quickly) Good luck!

In the last 18 months, I sold three units and purchased 3 units to re-swizzle my portfolio. The three I purchased I found on Redweek. None where directly with owner. Two of the units had brokers using Redweek and one unit was Redweek controlled. My experience with the brokers were okay. After the paperwork of the sales, you work with closing company. The 3 I sold, two I used redweek, one I sold using Facebook. I put one on Tug and did get some reach outs. I worked directly with buyer. I am comfortable doing this. If you do it yourself my words of advice, do not take the selling process personal, talk to everyone that reaches out to you, set a reasonable price and don’t be afraid to walk.

3 of the units, LT transfers handled the transactions, 2 were Dedicated Timeshare. Dedicated is the company used by Redweek. I did not like working with Redweek. Their norm is 48 hours response time. At one point I bypassed them and started working directly with the closing company. I liked Dedicated enough that I used for my last sale. The one I am currently buying is being done by Resort Closing. LT Transfers has been recommended by a few people. They are as good as any. They will also provide you with a sample selling contract if you ask. I used them twice as a seller and once as a buyer.
Good luck.

Thanks, this is very helpful!

take your pick---both are great!!!

1. Brokers Seth Nock and Sam Rodriguez
https://www.sellingtimeshares.net/selling-timeshares/about-us/
are very honest and can handle a purchase or a sale of timeshares.
They specialize in Marriott properties.
They've been around for 2 decades and are extremely trustworthy.
I have purchased two resale timeshares from them, and their prices and inventory are better than most.

2. Concierge Realty
handles rentals and sales of timeshare weeks, and they are very honest and professional.
Ask for agent Heidi Rustic. There are others and they're all great, but I've dealt with Heidi and she's wonderful.
You tell them the NET amount you want to receive (rentals and sales) and they market it and sell it and make whatever overage they charge.
They handle virtually every aspect and there is no guesswork and there are no worries.
