My wife made a VSN reservation in her account and updated the guest to my name. She also included the Bonvoy number (which populated automatically), but the reservation doesn't show up in Marriott.com in My Trips. All I have is the six-digit VNN confirmation number. Is there a way I can determine the eight-digit Marriott Bonvoy confirmation number for this reservation so I can add it to Marriott.com My Trips manually?

When your wife made the original Resie on the Vistana site it would show the Vistana number. Then check Marriott dot com my trips where you will see the Marriott number. Before you change the name, copy the Marriott 8 digit number.
Once the name change has been made on Vistana, wait 24 hours, then go into your Marriott dot com account and add it to your my trip list.

I know you are asking after the fact. I wonder if she switched it back to herself if it would auto generate into her Marriott dot com account? Copy the number then switch back to you.

Owner services has been able to give me the Marriott confirmation number when I forgot to write it down before changing the guest name.

When your wife first made the reservation, they automatically sent her the 8-digit Marriott confirmation within 24 hours. She should check her email for the day she made the reservation and the next day.

I checked back through the emails and all we received was the VSN confirmation.

They no longer automatically send a VSN confirmation and haven't for months - count the digits in the confirmation number that you received. Also - be sure you are checking the email that is listed on your account.

[Clarification: You can still email a Vistana confirmation to yourself from your online Acct, but when you make a new reservation the automated system sends you an 8-digit Marriott version confirmation.]

We just received the VSN confirmation for a reservation made on June 12th for Westin Kierland. That said, the reservation we made for Desert Oasis on the same day, we received a Marriott.com/Bonvoy confirmation.

How many digits are in the reservation number?

Then you or your wife sent that confirmation to yourself. The automated one is the 8-digit Marriott confirmation. I recommend that you check and see what email address is listed as the contact email on your Acct.

That is probably what it is. The confirmation has my name on it which means it was received because she did the name change. It is possible that we never received the Marriott.com/Bonvoy confirmation. I may need to dig through deleted emails.

Not always. In the last few months, when making a reservation at a Vistana resort, I sometimes receive automatic 6-digit VSN confirmations, sometimes 8-digit Marriott confirmations, sometimes both.

Interesting - I primarily deal with confirmations from mandatory resorts and the automated system is sending out the Marriott confirmations. Maybe it depends on the resort?

I was able to find the Marriott/Bonvoy confirmation email. I didn't realize the reservation was made way back ni February. I now have the 8-digit confirmation number. Will see if I can add it to My Trips on Marriott.com.

And with that, it all seems to be moot. I discovered that the reservation is already in my profile under My Trips. Perhaps it was an overnight process that added it after the name change because it didn't show up right away after changing the guest name through Vistana.com. Learned something new.

It doesn't show up right away - it can take a few days, and sometimes never, so it's a good idea to check it.

Note that the date on which you made the reservation is listed right on the Vistana confirmation.

Yeah, that is how I found the date we made the reservation. I looked at the new VSN confirmation email we received. Then I went back to that date and found the original Bonvoy reservation.

Same with me.

Same here. They're consistently inconsistent.

I had a Vistana reservation showing in his account. Then after check-in it seemed to have disappeared even from past reservations. I am trying to get these nights but Bonvoy just cannot see it. What number are they looking for? I sent both numbers and they still cannot see it.
