How to extend use of Marriott weeks with Interval

We have a number of Marriott weeks on deposit with Interval, awaiting an exchange request / decision. I'd like to extend these out as far as I can to future years and I'm determining my strategy.

My understanding is that I can use each of the weeks up to its expiry date, which is 2 years from / past the date of the deposited week. For example: My deposited week dated March 9 - March 16, 2024 would have an expiry date of March 16, 2026.

I understand that if I don't use the week by its expiry date, I can acquire a cancellation week from II that is good for a one year period, with the same trading power as the original week.

I understand I need to transact outside flexchange in order to keep maximum flexibility with my week.

My question is this - does E-Plus or any other option offered by Interval have the ability to further extend the timeframe I can use a week?

Thank you!

Yes eplus expires one year from the check in date of the exchange you buy it for.
So if you exchange to your expiration date a buy eplus you extend a year.
But it’s manual exchange, no requests.
You need to make your exchange and buy eplus more than 60 days from check in and be sure to do each eplus retrade more than 60 days from the current check in date to avoid flexchange- using your first eplus to exchange all the was to the eplus expiration date will avoid an error and leave you 2 retrades to find your trip.
You can buy eplus for your replacement/ cancellation week too.

So you could make an exchange for 3/26, buy eplus to get to 3/27, use all your eplus and call cancel and get a replacement week 1/27 (to avoid flexchange) which would expire 1/28 (one year from date you call) and make an exchange to the expiration and buy eplus again and have 3 manual exchanges to 1/29.
But you are paying your original exchange fee, plus one for the replacement week and 2 eplus fees and end up with an exchange booked manually in this scenario.
You might want to explore renting the week before you deposit it or finding a friend or family member to use the week or exchange with a guest certificate.

Assuming this week is not enrolled?

Thank you, Pamplemousse!
This is brilliant.

I’ve never needed to extend weeks out like this, but the scenario(s) you have outlined will work extremely well for our purposes. I really appreciate you explaining this. I have been around TUG and II for a long time but never considered how to do this.

Thanks also for outlining the additional fees - for us this is well worth it.

Very much appreciated!!

The weeks are not enrolled (they are deeded). I believe ‘enrolled’ means booked via points?

Enrolled means you have joined Abound- which gives you the option to convert the weeks to points each year or use exactly as you do now.
If you bought your weeks before 2010 you are eligible to enroll.
Once enrolled you pay a membership fee but it includes II member ship and free in brand exchanges- eliminating the need for eplus (except for extending expiration). It was a cost savings for me to enroll one lock off week.
