I am trying to get a written confirmation of what my timeshare's are worth for Medicaid planning. I presently have 203,000 points. Where do I go to get this information? Is there a cost and if so, how much is reasonable.

First question would be what kind of points.

Sheila

You go by the book value, i.e. the amount you paid for it. Who knows what the fair market value will be in the future?

I don't believe that'll work. I think the rule you have to use is: the value is what a willing buyer will pay a willing seller, when both are fully aware of all relevant factors.

If you are applying for Medicaid....I suggest selling them or giving them to a relative so you don't have any assests. I would hate to see you get denied medical coverage because you own a timeshare.

Many people get a good idea of what their TS is worth by finding completed Ebay sales of that resort.

Personally, that where I'd start.
