How to decline II exchange when II is closed?

Hi
I placed an exchange for a few different resorts and one of them was confirmed. Thinking some more about it I don’t think we want to go. The exchange was early in the morning today. In the past when this happens I have called and continued with the request. Interval is no longer open 7 days a week. Tomorrow will be beyond the 24 hour cancellation period. So what do I do? Will they honor it since they were closed? I don’t want to to do a re-trade and pay for that option. As well as loose the exchange power I had with a platinum MGO week deposited 13 months before check in. Suggestions?

Send an email to Interval International today. The email should have today's date and time notated on it. Follow up with phone call tomorrow to confirm receipt and cancellation of reservation.

.

I really wish II would change the policy wording on this and just say to call before close of the next business day.

You may call II customer service as they are open 7 days with limited hours Sat (10-6) and Sun (11-5) EST.

Fill out form. Enter Exchange number. They will write you back so that you "confirm the cancellation". Tell them if you want to remove that resort, or that week.

I've also had success in canceling an exchange via email. Sometimes quick response, sometime it takes days, but works out.

Hi, newbie here. The request I want shows this. The dates I need are Sun-Sun. The week showing are Thurs-Thurs. I'm a little confused as to the verbage here. Does this mean I am committing to Thurs-Thurs unless they decide Sun-Sun is available?? I want to grab it quickly as it is at my home resort but overlaps with my previous week. Thank you for any help you can offer!!

Note:
The system defaults for searching purposes to the Thursday prior to the dates you have entered. You may be confirmed without contact up to 30-days prior to the travel date requested for a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday check-in for any resorts included in your request. You may also be confirmed into any resort or time period requested, regardless of the order in which they are listed, without prior contact. For check-ins on Monday through Thursday, you will be contacted by Interval prior to confirmation. Once the request is confirmed, you have 24 hours to cancel for a full refund. Additionally, if for some reason we are unable to confirm your request, you will receive a full refund for your exchange fee.

It means even if the date you request is say a Saturday, if Thursday,Friday or Sunday check in comes available they will confirm you for that.
If you don’t want the week your request matches you can call II within 24 hrs to cancel and ask that your search be reinstated.
You can also call II to place the request for a specific check in day and then they won’t match any other day.

I‘m confused by the “ grab it quickly” comment- if you find the exchange you want when searching yourself you just go ahead and confirm it- you don’t need to place a request for it.

When you place a request it states you will automatically be confirmed for any Friday, Saturday or Sunday start without being contacted. but for anything else (Th or Mon) you would be contacted. Historically if you cancel a match you have to remove at least that week and resort from your search, I'm not sure if you could add it back in later, not sure if they're still doing it that way. If you call they can change it to only specific days but I don't think you'll later be able to modify online, you'd have to call.

If you only want a specific check-in day you have to call to request that. Ongoing search automatically defaults to Thursday-Sunday. I matched an ongoing search to Aruba last year, but it was Friday check-in and I really wanted Sat or Sun. I called within the 24 hours and gave it back- I did not have to change my dates or resorts I was requesting they just removed the Thur/Fri/Mon check-in options. I re-matched for Sat check-in a couple of days later.

I am worried that someone else will take the week. I am new to this, so not sure how it works.

As I said and samara64 also said if you see the week you want available you just book it- you don’t place a request if you can see the week.
The “note” you shared in your first post is what you see when placing a request.
If you are requesting that means the week you want is not showing as available so you are getting in line for if someone deposits what you want. When you request if you have a specific day of the week you need to check in you can call II and limit your request to that day only.
