How much per point is a good price for a resale. Is there a website that list good resales.

Almost every system has points - what kind of points?

Unfortunately we cannot answer this general of a question. It is like asking "what is a good price for a used car".

To get market value check eBay for closed and SOLD auctions for whatever resort you are considering.

Don't pay attention to websites that list outrageously priced timeshares for sale as those will never sell.

For timeshares with more value try websites for respected brokers like Judy Kozlowski and Seth Lock.

Look at Bargain deals on TUG

A Disney resale? Four Seasons? Marriott, Hyatt, Vistana, or Hilton? Or low tier TS's?

It sounds like you are new to timesharing, you picked a good web site to learn. Before buying a timeshare learn everything you can because a timeshare at the same resort could be both good and bad depending on the season you bought. Think exit strategy, can you get rid of the ts in the future (some mf's are higher than renting) then you will never get rid on it. Anyway plan on spending time on learning before buying your first timeshare.

The best price is always zero if you ask me.

Most NON-PRIME week timeshares have a negative value ... as the MFs are WAY more than any rental value for that interval.

There are VERY FEW timeshares which HOLD even their resale value ... almost NONE hold the any value close to what the Developer originally sold the units for. EXCEPTIONS who HOLD some partial value include DVC points, deeded prime holiday weeks at 5 star resorts (between Christmas & New Year's, July 4th beach weeks), New Orleans weeks for Mardi Gras, New York City for ANY time (except none seemed to be deeded holiday weeks), etc. A few resorts have some value to local area residents who BUY to have day usage of pools & fitness centers & other activities.

That is WHY buying resale USUALLY makes good sense.

I did this research a few years ago because I wanted RCI points. On tug discussions, a penny per point or lower is a good value for RCI points. Not sure about other systems. If you are looking at RCI points, I'd research "points for deposit". I've used that to get my cost per point well below a penny. My actual points resorts aren't a large portion of my points. Most come from pfding weeks.

Let me clarify, that is comparing to maintenance fees, not purchase price. I agree with the other post, best purchase price is free.
