I am shocked. Who Would have ever thought Marriott would devalue reward points. I stopped being motivated by points and night stays years ago. Convenient locations, Employee discount, breakfast and room upgrade matter.

I now burn Bonvoy points as fast as I earn them-they are worthless. Back in the day of Travel Packages, I could do great things with them.

I still build them and usually have 500-600k points. I still find good use for the points. Converted about 300K to United points a couple of years ago. This March I will be staying at St. Regis in Singapore for a full week, cost was only 2 35K credit card nights plus 196K Bonvoy points.

Yeah, I was aware of that. Unfortunately I don't see a path for them to get to the same scale again that they did the first time. The SPG years were the golden age of hotel loyalty programs - they were the best and forced others to compete with them.
