How long does it takes for elite nights and points to post in your Marriott Bonvoy account after checkout at MVC?

I stayed at Timber Lodge Tahoe and didn't receive elite night credits and points posted to my account for 3 weeks. I called the customer service and they said stay is not eligible for credit as it booked at wholesale rate through retailer like expedia, etc. I told them I booked this stay as a week owner at MVC. They all said contact MVC. When I contacted MVC they said contact Marriott. Even the online request to report missing stay came back this answer.

I finally I got a sensible representative who understood and gave me the credit.

Could you please share your experiences? Are you easily getting elite night credit for your stays?

Mine have all posted usually within 3-5 days after checkout.

ALWAYS be sure you provide your Marriott Bonvoy Reward Number to the front desk clerk and be sure they attach it to your reservation for you.

You shouldn't have any issues if you always do this.....

.

You were Bonvoyed!

Gold elite is worthless. In a Marriott now and got stuck in a crap room next to people who won’t shut up. This is hell

There can be “loud” guests in any hotel in any hotel chain in the World
As part of Marriott’s integration of the Loyalty programmes, the old Gold elite level was renamed Platinum level for the new Bonvoy programme (for Marriott Rewards members anyway)
As a result, Platinum is the level at which the more useful benefits really start to kick in now.

Our stay for last week in NJ was posted in two (2) days.

I don't recall on my last MVC stay, but my last few Marriott hotel stay took closer to a week. I just submitted a missing stay request for a hotel stay from over 10 days ago.

Our recent MVC stay was posted to our account within a week. However, I've had a stay in the past that should have accrued us 7 nights, but we were only given 1. Based on what I found, it seems the Rewards are accrued depending on how the actual resort/hotel "codes" the stay. I ended up calling the resort and telling them what happened. They had their finance team update my stay code. Once they updated it, I then called Rewards and they saw the change and gave me the other nights I was missing.

I have always had my elite nights credited within 2-3 days with one exception. We stayed at Ritz Carlton Villas in Vail in June using Destination Points and elite nights were not credited. I used the online process to get credited and received the response I wasn't eligible because the reservation was through a wholesale house like Expedia. When I called Bonvoy the representative manually credited my account, tricking the system by using another property (Sheraton).

How do you make a Destination Points booking through a wholesale house like Expedia?
And tricking the system is not very ethical - if a booking does not qualify, it does not qualify.

Should we receive elite nights for a Westin timeshare stay exchange through II? We did not receive those nights but thought maybe they were not eligible.

I think the issue was that the rep simply didn't know how to credit the nights because they were not well informed. So the rep used a work around that they perhaps have used in the past to post the nights instead of just doing it the right way.

This one is tricky. Most Marriott II exchanges get elite night credit. However without a formal written policy (which there isn't), you may have a tough time getting credit for this. People can more easily get credit for a Vistana home resort or StarOption stay because an email was sent out indicating the policy change. II getaways for Marriott stays have always kind of lived in a gray area, no official policy saying they get nights, but often they did by just having your rewards number attached to the reservation. Since many Vistana stays don't seem to be posting automatically, getting a missing stay request done on them may not always be successful.
