We took a tour of OceanWatch about 4 weeks ago and the 15,000 points we were promised for taking the tour still have not shown up in our Marriott Rewards account. The sales rep said it takes 6-8 weeks for the points to be deposited. Does that sound right, or do you think that those points may never make it into my account? Thanks!

I could be wrong but i think my last three (all last year or so) only took 1-2 weeks. tours were done at Ko Olina, Timberlodge, and Grand Chateau. not sure if it makes any difference where the preview was done.

Our last tour only took one week for the points to show up in my account.

Our last Marriott purchase took months for the points to show up.

I have one from May that has not shown up in my account yet (Aruba Surf Club). Guess I should send an email to Marriott Rewards.

Give it the 8 weeks - if it hasn't shown up by then, call the resort (sales department) in question. I had to do this for both NCV and OP.

NCV was an honest mistake - When I signed up for tour, I wasn't sure if I wanted points or gift certs. They put us down for the gift certs. At the end of the tour, I asked for the points instead. I got a receipt for the points but they didn't show up in my account. I waited and when I called, they said it was a mix-up from the change. They fixed it right away and the points were in my account in less than a week.

OP was a Marriott mistake, not sure if it was OP or Marriott Rewards, but points originally showed as only 1500. Since they say 8 weeks, I had to wait that time to make sure that's what it was. After 3 phone calls, OP finally straightened it out.

BTW, I always keep the slip of paper (receipt) they give me until the points post in my account - then I toss it.

Long wait

The sales rep told us last week it would be 6 to 8 weeks. There doesn't seem to be any reason why it should take that long. When I stay at a Marriott Hotel the points are posted within days.

When we bought our MOC unit last August it took months to get our points. I finally had to call MOC and ask them to get my points. They told me they were behind in posting the points and that it took 6 to 8 months.:crash:

The points were finally posted within a day or two of my calling MOC [so they can get the points posted right away if they want to].

i agree (my observations) that resort may control how long it takes to post
