How long is it taking now for deed recording in Oahu? We purchased a timeshare in Ko Olina at the end of the year. Got everything on our part done in mid Feb (due to wrong names on documents, etc). Sent money over on 2/23. The seller took another couple weeks to get his stuff in... grrr... Now it's been almost 2 months. Our closing company is telling me that it should be another couple days every time I call them Tried calling the Bureau of Conveyances in Hawaii, but the mailbox is full? We have our vacation coming at end of July to Ko Olina, no tickets bought yet because it is not under our name yet. Our closing co is telling to buy tickets. Should we? Also, I guess it is too late for us to trade the studio portion in II? Ugh! Is someone not doing their job? Should I be doing something more? Who can I call? Please help!

If you didn't request a conformed copy

They take around 3 to 4 months to record and send you an original , sorry. Greg

Darly2004,

Did the seller make the July reservation for you? If your name has been added to the reservation, the recording does not need to be completed for you to use the unit. However, for your to join II and exchange your unit, the deed must be recorded and ownership transferred by Marriott.

For my Ko Olina purchase, it took 42 days from opening of escrow to Marriott completing the ownership transfer. It should not take 2 months to record your deed.

Yes, they made a reservations for us, but I don't think it is in our name yet? The closing co told us we can go as their "guests". As guests, do you get the same benefits as owners, ie free parking? Who can I call to expedite the process? I was expecting 3 months for the process, so this is taking longer than I thought.
