If a unit is reserved at 6AM on the 365 day mark and deposited into Interval a few minutes later, how long before that unit is confirmed by II as valid and made available to exchangers? Do II and Marriott have communicating software that makes such confirmations instantaneous, or do they have to go through the fax procedure that II usually uses?

It usually takes 1-2 days for II to confirm your Marriott reservation. You can still begin searching by simply putting the Marriott reseravtion number in the empty box on the II page yourself.

Fax procedures? With the computer who faxes anymore? For that matter, who even uses the US Mail anymore?

I would think that with the volume of Marriotts that go through II that there is some kind of electronic process that verifies this. I think it may be a nightly process. I say this because when I book an II getaway at a Marriott TS, I can't look up the reservation in Marriott's system until the next day.
