How does Marriott calculate a Month?

As a Premier Enrolled Owner, we can book up to TEN months out for less than a one week stay. In a test using today (14 Jan 2014), the last day we can book a ONE-night stay is 18 Nov 2014. That is also the date we can apparently START a THREE-night stay.

That works out to be 308 days away so it appears that Marriott does not normalize a month to 30 Days. It is also not a one for one for the DAY of the Month (14th vs 18th).

It appears to us that in fact it is based upon WEEKS versus MONTHS as the last availability is the Tuesday of that Week which is exactly 44 Weeks out from the current date. Kind of Serendipity for a weeks owner :)

Therfore, to get Christmas Day, we should be able to book the stay on 20 Feb 2014 for three nights (yes, consuming a lot of points!).

Is our math correct? Thanks in advance!

Use MVCI website

On the MVCI website under "plan your vacation" pull down menu there is a inventory release date schedule that is very easy to use. It ask whether you are a weeks or points user, whether you are booking at your home resort, etc. Then by putting in your desired check in date it will tell you specifically what day you can make your reservation depending on 10 month, 12 month or 13 month request.

I think you will find it quite easy to use. Good luck.

Thanks, we did not play with that and we just did a test in the reservation window...so using the tool, the release date is on a Tuesday. So if we want to start on Christmas Day plus two more, we have to wait until 25 Feb, but if we want a 5-day stay that includes those three days (25-27 Dec) We can book it on 18 Feb.
