How do you cancel an exchange request placed in Interval?

I was on hold for 30 MINUTES waiting to ask this of an Interval agent, when I realized I could post the question here and get an answer in 5 minutes. Can I cancel on-line, or do I need to speak to a rep? Will there be a $20 fee that goes along with asking a rep if they are having a nice day?

I guess the real perk for Platinum interval membership is that you won't be put on hold forever...

No priority phone access for II platinum

I don't think that II Platinum comes with any priority phone access. I am Platinum for the free GC's but still wait on hold. Unless they have a dynamic system that recognizes your caller ID, Platinum does not get you faster phone service. I asked a rep if there were dedicated platinum phone numbers and was told no.

I, on the other hand, am currently waiting on hold for an Owner Services rep (Marriott VOA) to answer. Due to high call volumes, we expect to answer your call in 28 minutes."

Unfortunately I'm pretty sure you have to call to cancel.

If you don't have time to be on hold for a long time, you may change your request on line to something that is impossible to match (e.g. Four Seasons Aviara in late July), and call back some other time when it's more convenient for you and the hold is shorter.

I don't know if anyone else has had problems, but the system was not allowing me to change my request. I tried removing a property. it appears to complete the process but what it shows me is that the "new" request looks identical to the old one.

The II website is very glitchy and otherwise not user friendly. I have had similar problems many times but have always been able to get the resorts and weeks I wanted in searches. But it has often taken me numerous attempts.
