Housekeeping Credits?

As new Owner, trying to learn the system. I booked a reservation in late-2025 this year that used (1) of my (4) housekeeping credits, so I understood that. I just booked a reservation for later this month (technically before my April U/Y), and they charged me $185 Housekeeping credit?? Is that because I technically had to 'borrow' since my UY didn't start yet?

When you borrow points, it doesn't borrow the HK credits along with the points. You have to use the HK credits you get during the use year they came with. Same with banking. The HK credits don't move with the points.

Thats what I thought....I guess I will have some leftover HK points then, because I will probably only book one additional trip this year. I assume those just go away, and are not transferable?

Housekeeping and Guest Certificates are issued by calendar year, Jan1-Dec 31.

Borrowing points should not require you to use HK from a future use year. Something seems wrong, I would call.

You said you had 4 HK for the use year and used only 1, so regardless of whether or not you borrowed points, you should have 3 HK to use.

HK do not roll over, and you cannot move them to a future UY or borrow them from a future UY. But it also sounds like you should not have to here.

So are HK credits based on calendar year or use year? Your first sentence indicates calendar year but then you flip to use year in the last sentence.

Just got off the phone with Wyndham--because I'm a new owner--and my points technically don't start until 4/1 (I borrowed these to 2025 UY), I technically don't have any HK credits yet. This makes sense to me, but still don't like paying $185 lol

Ok, well, I guess in your case, I guess that's technically correct since your first use year ever has not begun yet. You should, or at least better, get your full compliment of RT's after your use year starts. Raise hell if you don't.

I think I'm good.......because I booked Clearwater in fall (DURING my UY), and they took one of my HK credits

And just want to say (so far) the website is super easy to use. I have to say, just as easy as DVC.

Just to clarify, RTs and guest certificates are calendar year, and housekeeping credits are use year. I don't think RTs have been at issue in this discussion (and won't be, if they're booking online where RTs are free).

Reservation transactions. You get a certain number of free reservation transactions (1 per 77,000 points per calendar year), and then you have to pay a transaction fee for any additional transactions you make - except that a couple of years ago, Wyndham made reservation transactions free when booked online. You'll probably see this later in the year if you book online - it may tell you that you need to "purchase" a reservation transaction, but you just tell it okay and the cost for that transaction is $0. If, however, you'd called to make that late-year reservation after you ran out of transactions, it would cost you $39.
