I have a 154K contract that I just got as a resale.

I made a series of 2015 reservations and cancelled them all. They included points I borrowed from 2016 (I borrowed 36K points from 2016).

I noticed on my account today that my housekeeping credits are now:

2014: 0 points available, 154 housekeeping

2015: 10K cancelled points available, 105 housekeeping

2016: 118K points available, 0 housekeeping

Why did all those housekeeping credits come out of 2016? Is there something I can do to fix it? I did all the reservations online. Is there an option I may have chosen incorrectly?

I am going to call Wyndham next week, but wanted to see if anyone knew why this happened. I am a newbie, so I figure I messed up somewhere.

How many reservations did you make? Did you also borrow housekeeping credits from 2016? Making multiple partial week reservations can cause you to run out of housekeeping credits before you run out of points. The most important thing to remember about borrowing is that when you cancel, the borrowed points do not go back to the original use year.

It certainly won't hurt to call Wyndham and please for mercy.

Each use year you receive 1 housekeeping credit for every 1,000 points you own. A contract with 154,000 points annually receives 154 housekeeping credits each use year.

The size of the unit and length of stay determine the required amount of housekeeping credits per reservation. A split or combined reservation can use more housekeeping credits depending on how many room changes you have? If you don't change rooms for a split or combined reservation, you can ask for the additional housekeeping credits taken to be returned to your account at the resort or with the Wyndham call center.

During the express reservation period you do have the option of borrowing housekeeping credits from the next use year. Perhaps that is what you did by mistake?

You need to call the Wyndham call center. Something doesn't seem correct? If you mistakenly did this, explain to the reservation agent that you are a new owner with Wyndham. They may be able to help you and correct the housekeeping credit error? It never hurts to ask what went wrong or to ask if they can assist you?

When I borrow points the housekeeping credits come from the use year of the reservation and NOT from the use year I borrowed from.

How many reservation do you have? Do you have only 1 reservation, or more than that? Have you deposited any points into your RCI account?

Your points chart may update itself automatically (usually within 48 hours) or on Monday if you made the reservation over the weekend. If it does not, then I would definitely call and speak with someone.

Good luck!

Cynthia T. :)
