Hotel Cahin timeshares question

We are considering looking into the hotel based timeshares (Hyatt, Hilton, etc) but is it any different than the resort base (ours is in Orlando)? It does have anythign to do with the hotels themselves, right? I can't use any points accumulated at a regular Hilton etc, right?

I am also trying to assess if joining these type give you access to less remote locations than are available with a regular RCI type resort.

Is it same (*&!, different name?
