Home Week to Club Season (or Home Resort Priority) Reservation

If you have a Home Week reservation and decide you won't need all the nights, can you call HGVC and have them shorten the stay without risking the nights you want to keep (assuming the reservation is in the Club Season [or Home Resort Priority] reservation window)? Or do you (or the CSR) have to cancel the Home Week reservation and hope for the best?

As far as I know, you can't modify a HW. You would need to cancel and rebook in the club reservation window

I have done this many times but the reservation must be canceled and rebooked as a club reservation. I always call HGVC CSR and have them rebook it for me. I have learned to ensure that there isn't negative inventory (week is overbooked and inventory won't show back up) on the week. I think that all of the elite premier CSR reps seem to already know to check that.
