Recently needed to cancel an MVC reservation roughly 2 weeks before checkin due to a hospitalization. So my points are now in a holding account, which I know can only be used for a reservation within 60 days of checkin. I believe the key date is checkin - so even if the rest of the vacation falls outside of the 60 days, as long as the checkin date is within the 60 days I am good to go. Is this correct? This is a first for me.
Thanks in advance.

I believe you are correct but you could easily try it and see.
Get well soon!

Correct. And not that it is the best use of holding points, but you can also call MVC to use them to book hotels in the Explorer Collection or II resorts with check-ins of 60 days or less.

It is also at midnight eastern time. No 9am or inventory release to worry about. It just opens up existing inventory at midnight. Discounts also apply if you are Presidential or Chairman's Club.

last year I booked a week at Beachplace Tower’s thru II for my daughter..husband and toddler for May 2025….Luckily i have 320 holding points in my MVC account that expire 2 days after their arrival to get a resort credit for them to use...I need to add another 5 points…I will be calling MVC next week as I can only use the holding points within 60 days of arrival
