Hello all!

Im not sure if I read somewhere here on TUG that Water Activity equipment (kayaks, pedal boats, etc.) can be rented on a weekly basis at the Hilton Waikoloa resort. My family and I have an upcoming stay and the thought of unlimited usage of such equipment would be the way to go. Thanks for the help!

We were just there for a week in February and no, they do not rent any such items at the resort. In the nearby Queens Market and Kings shops, there are equipment rental places for snorkeling, scuba, boogie boards, etc. As for kayaks, I can't honestly say if these are available at Waikoloa or whether you'd have to go down to Kailua-Kona for them. The concierges at the resort can probably answer that for you. Just call the resort after about 9 a.m. Hawaii time and ask them.

Kayaks can be rented by the hour, etc., at the stand on A-Bay beach outside the Marriott hotel.

Enjoy! :)

I remember Hilton Waikoloa Resort renting equipment at the lagoon. I don't know though if they only rent by hour or day, or if you can do a long term rental price.

Last time I was there, it was Red Sail that did the concessions for the lagoon. They had single, double, triple kayaks as well as water bikes. Don't recall if one can rent by the week. I believe it was all by the hour. I am assuming you want to use the equipment while at the small lagoon at the resort.

Their information is below. Don't know if it is still valid or not.

Red Sail no longer has the Hilton Waikoloa concessions. Not sure of the name of the new company, but you can probably get a link off of the hotel website.

When Red sail had the contract you could rent equipment for a week. We got the Ohana package (week long family rate) and my DS's would run back and forth all day picking up new equipment. Hopefully whoever has it now will do the same.

We were there last summer and we rented equipment from beside the lagoon. They only had hourly rates for the equipment, because we were looking at renting something for the day. And the rentals had to stay in the lagoon if I remember right. You would be better going into Kona and renting stuff, it would be cheaper.
