I have a trip booked for two 2BR at the LV Flamingo for July 23-26.

Currently, there is zero availability for those dates in any size room at the LV Flamingo on HGVC.com

I've been checking back on HGVC.com to see if another room has popped up in case I want to downgrade...

There are, however, 1BR and studios available at the HGVC Flamingo via Hilton.com....

Does anyone know why we get shorted those rooms!??!

Sock33, I am able to see 1 BR availability for those dates using the Classic system.

HGVC members give up their week(s) to HGVC when they exchanges their ClubPoints for ClubPartner Perk reservations or HHonor points. For more details see page 144 of the 2009 Member Guide under the Section titled "Occupancy Restrictions"

I have asked the same question to the HGVC rep and the reply was Hilton has some inventory which are exclusively dedicated for rentals. Not sure whether the inventory comes for the owners who trade their HGVC points for HH points.

The one thing that was stressed to me during my first sales presentation is that HGVC and Hilton are separate and distinct entities. So everything that happens between the two entities must be written in a contract. For example, HGVC Waikoloa and Hilton Waikoloa has a written agreement for use of the mega pool. The contract expires in 2012 or 14, I can't remember. The agreement was in my ownership paperwork.

So, I am assuming that HGVC, to attrack more "Marks", gives Hilton X amount of unsold weeks for reservation purpose. Also, Hilton can reserve X amount of days/weeks depending on how many HGVC points were converted to HHonors points.
