Hilton seems to have increased the points needed for units at the Ka'anapali Beach club.

...and they now list units with a roll-in shower. Does anyone have experience with this? Any photos?

Yes, it seems Hilton has raised the points needed for rooms at Ka'anapali Beach Club. It could be because of high demand, resort renovation, or rewards system update. Definitely something to look out for!

Does someone have a before and after point chart? Can they just increase the number of points required? Is it that easy. Generally with trust based point systems, once the points are set they are kind of locked in. They can do some demand balancing within the same resort by increasing points required for some dates while decreasing them for others, but they can't really do an across the board increase.

Could this be a result of the HGVC 1.6x adjustment when Diamond was acquired. Many resorts increased in points but that was offset by giving it more points for same room. This could be a wash for owners but a loss for others where the property was not adjusted.

Just play with the last 2 digits of the following url to get older point charts (this is what I did to get this one that seems to be the latest because 36 return error)
From what I see, the number of points didn't change for listed units but units with roll-in showers are not listed and it's possible that those units needed more points than regular units

I would think a roll in shower is an ADA thing, not necessarily an upgrade. Though I could be wrong.

The 1.6x adjustment was for HGVC points, not Diamond points. The Diamond property points charts really shouldn't have changed because of it. So I don't think that would explain it.

I have found that if you search before the allowed time the search will show the cost in DEX points which seems to require more points. I can search at thirteen months out, if I try before that I can see what is available but the points are higher. If your search was outside of the normal schedule that could be why you are seeing a higher points requirement.

The roll in showers are indeed in an ADA unit.
