I have not traded a week through II in many years.
I just use points.

How difficult is it to obtain a week in Hilton Head the last week of April trading through II?
Thanks.

Doing Marriott to Marriott, it shouldn't be that difficult but if you want Grand Ocean, Barony, or Surfwatch, you want to get your ongoing request in ASAP because you already missed the 1 year out set of deposits? If you are ok with the non ocean front resorts, you still want to do it earlier rather than later but the request may come in quicker.

I agree MVC to MVC exchange in April is not difficult.
But realize that exchanging into Hilton Head will likely not get you oceanfront/view. I was told at Grande ocean that exchangers get low floor in the back buildings.

I got HHI about 5 years ago and MB this year for April-both using 1 BR Harbour Lakes.
MB I got the view listed on the exchange.

Place a request.
There is a video tutorial in the general discussion section of the II community or call II.
You can request without depositing your week or deposit first.

For the same resort or a similar one, deposited well in advance and a request places at lest 12-13 months out should produce success routinely. Harbour Pointe or Sunset pointe to one of the top 3, maybe not.

Thanks--but I am not trading from Harbor Point or Sunset Point, and I certainly do not want to trade into them.

I couldn't tell from your post. I was pointing out that resort quality has an effect on chances of success but even then I suspect it'd work out. Since this will be after the PGA tournament it shouldn't be a big deal if you control the other parameters related to exchanging. I'm sure others have excperience trading for such weeks using a good trading resort, even a 1 BR instead and can give some insight on the chances of success there. I'm not sure it's a good choice exchanging a prime summer week in HHI for a lower rated week routinely. If enrolled, I might do it on points and have some left. If not enrolled and I didn't have anything else to exchange, I might look at buying a "trading week", one that would allow me to use the 13 month window to reserve the HHI summer week as well. Then try to do this with the 1 BR side instead of the full 2 BR, maybe renting the summer week. Other options would include renting both ways or buying for the April week.

Remember you'll have very low unit assignment priority do this through II and might not get the unit view assigned at applicable resorts. I bet you could accomplish this with a private trade fairly easily. I'm sure there are many out there who would be thrilled to work this out with you. Heck I'd be willing to use my points in return to pick up another Grande Ocean week yearly for our family trip.

If I understand you correctly you own a summer week MVC HHI and want to exchange to the same MVC HHI for the last week of April?
If that is the case trading power is not an issue. Place a request asap-if there was an issue it would be supply.
And be prepared for no view.
The other option would be to rent out your summer week and use the proceeds to then rent the April week view of your choice.

Exchanging a summer week for a spring week should be a pretty easy trade. Might be further ahead to just rent the summer week and buy a cheaper spring week so you don’t have to trade

If you exchange into Barony Beach you'll likely be sent across the road beyond another resort. One of the managers there told me that exchangers almost never get assigned to the main resort.

This is very true with Barony Beach. I wouldn't recommend an Interval trade into there. Next time I go to HHI, I am using points.

We did an AC into Barony and got an Oceanside villa. It was December though...

I was lucky to get Oceanside on an exchange in early Feb. I combined it with VC points so they kept me in a nice oceanside unit.
IIRC our II confirmation was for an Oceanside, so not sure if that mattered. The only other time we stayed at Barony was using points and booked Oceanside.

At Barony the Garden view building across the road is preferred by many with small children as it has the splash pad and waterslide.

It really is not a far walk at all to the main resort and the beach...we all need daily steps right...not attempting to diminish anyones movement challenges.

I would like to use points to go to HHI not familiar with the resorts have been to Grand Ocean once. I would like a 3 bedroom. I understand surfwatch and Monarch has them. Are there any lockoff units there?

No lock offs and Monarch only has a single 3BR unit. Your chances of a 3Br are far better at Surfwatch.

None of the 8 Marriott resorts on Hilton Head have lockoff units; Monarch has one 3BR unit called the Crown Suite and SurfWatch is the only other that has 3BR units. This thread will help you figure out SurfWatch:
