We have 3 different weeks booked at one of the Marriott's between March and July. We normally have been leaving our 13 year old beagle with family, but with so many trips planned, including a separate one to Myrtle Beach, I'm wondering if driving down with her and putting her up in a nice kennel would be an option..so as not to burn through too many family favors? Any recommendations from those that have done this in the past?

Thanks...

I've heard good things about Evergreen and Southpaw but don't know anything about them otherwise. Personally I'd board them locally, they'll likely be safer and more comfortable.

Yeah I'd consider looking locally. Pet sitting is one of the biggest "side hustles" in the country so there will be literally a dozen people to choose from near you that will be much cheaper than a boarding house. You can find someone to come to your house and feed, play and care for your dog a few times a day or someone who takes your dog into their home. Ask for local recommendations and I'm sure you're find multiple people to choose from.

We've ridden by Southpaw and their facilities appear among the best we've seen. No idea about cost. Their website is http://www.sphhi.com/.

Evergreen. We’re HHI locals and that’s where we always boarded our now deceased greyhound.

The last couple of years we have used Evergreen when going to Hilton Head. They were great and we would often go get our dog for the day and return him before closing time.

Since owning at MGO for ten years we have boarded our dogs at Evergreen. As of last summer they offer a Marriott discount I assume they still do but ask. Our dogs are always happy and we sometimes take them for walks near Marriott Surfwatch. Enjoy.

I only wanted to add... the dog park at the island's big community park (sort of mid-island) is awesome. So if you're boarding at either you can do a play day at the dog park. And I know a beagle would love the scents and smells there.
