Hilton Head Ocean Oak, partial view vs. full ocean view

I am at OO now, and thanks to this post I got room 1405 in Tower 1 with Standard Points. I am very Happy with View and room. This is our 1st Time at OO.
Thanks is a great room and certainly nothing to complain about. The only complaint would be parking in general but we love the resort so much we overlook the parking situation.

This and no 3 bedrooms. Doesn’t stop me from booking the property, though. #1 on my list of HGVC resorts.

Hopefully, the renovations are done now and they have opened up the parking spots that they used for stuff.

based on the feedback here, i think i'll try to book the STD room, with an extra day of overlap, going to the OF after. if i do that, rather than OV into OF, i'll have just enough points to avoid checking out one day, and being in limbo until check-in later that day. i won't have any other use for the points this year anyway.

i appreciate everyone's input!
a lot of the water over the bridge since this prior post, but here's what i now have booked:

i'll likely trim it to 7 nights, but this is not the STD room, right? i must have figured out a way to get the good-good the entire visit.

now what do i ask for when we get there (or a few nights before)? we've never been to this property before.

Those are the rooms that we like to book. Ask ahead of time or at check in to be up as high as possible. All are nice but the higher up ones have a better view. Tower 1 is to the left past the check in desk. You can pull around and try to park by the elevators closest to the ocean. They go right to the OF rooms.

If you like to bike, you can rent from Island Life ahead of time. They will put them in the court yard and be there when you show up then they will pick them up. You can also rent chairs and umbrella for them which is cheaper than the vendor on the beach.

We enjoyed a day trip to Savannah. It's about an hour drive, but the city is amazing and full of history. I recommend buying a trolley pass. They have regular trolleys that go thoron a regular schedule that you can take to the different areas. They make stops at the many historical places. The food there is very good as well.

Hilton Head is a great place to try awesome food. There are may incredible restaurants that people come from all over the world to try. There's a thread in the Marriott forum that is a running list of reviews. It's 39 pages and always being added to. Here's the link:

If you golf, you are in golfers paradise. Play a round or 5. The above mentioned bike rental are fantastic. Hilton Head is one of the most bike-able places in the country. If you are a history buff, they have a Museum of The Mighty Eighth (WWII Bombers in the European Theater) in between Savannah and Hilton Head. My grandfather was a B17 pilot and it's very well done. My family have been to several museums and this one ranks right below the US Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio (one of the best museums in the country, IMHO).

As far as rooms go, I would ask for the highest floor you can get in one of the corner rooms (xx08 and xx11). We had 1511 and it was a great room to stay in.

No matter the room, you will enjoy your stay. It's a great place to visit.
