I've fallen in love with Hilton Hawaiian Village - we stayed there recently on an exchange. It is 1/4 with RCI. How can I get back there without spending a fortune? We can travel any time of the year.

Purchase a 4800 point Hilton property in Vegas for $5000, and trade into Hawaii. Of course, nothing is guaranteed, but this has worked for us for the last 4 years.

Or find a HGVC member who'll rent his points (reserve+rent).
Alternatively, book a hotel stay thru Hilton Hotels.

Get another separate RCI membership and deposit your trader that "sees" HHV in that one. Now you have 2 in 4 vs. 1 in 4.

4800 Points will get you a 1BR at HHV during Platinum Season (which is like most of the time except for around 2 months or so around May and September - then it's Gold at 3400 points for a 1BR).

You don't really "trade" for the unit. Within HGVC, if you own in Vegas (as the example above), you can reserve outside of your Home Resort at a 9 Month window prior to your desired Check-Out Date. If you do it on the day of, you have a pretty good chance in getting what you want... But can require some "game" playing to get a full week... You might need to reserve 3 days (which is the smallest amount you can reserve) and then modify the reservation to add a day each day until you get the desired number of days...

Is each tower for HHV via RCI 1 in 4; or is HHV overall 1 in 4?

I would think since they are separate listings, they would each be available for exchange so you could rotate between towers.

Hmmm, I've fallen a little out of love with it since our recent visit. We purchased Lagoon as our home resort in 2001 and enjoyed being in the only timeshare tower at the resort. Now there are 3 towers, and it seems much more crowded than we have ever seen. Its certainly still the jewel in the HGVC crown though, and the repairs to the Lagoon with new pools were enjoyed by all. I was disappointed that they are not enforcing the owners only policy in the new pool, it was crowded with hotel guests that did not have the wrist bands, they show very little respect for the property like the owners do.

Keep looking for a deal itchy, we are glad we purchased when we did (2001), I couldn't afford it now ;-).

Is the new pool supposed to be for Club geusts and not hotel, when we were there it was mass cayous and hysteria. It was over crowded and it appeared me and my wife were the only ones with wrist bands. I love the lagoon, but studios at Kalia are great. Not a huge fan of the Wakikian (sp).

That is the way it was explained to me when I checked in and they gave me 4 wristbands. I think hotel guests can purchase them for daily use.

I had several instances where my Lagoon Tower key card opened the gate when a hotel guest card would not work, they eventually got in as someone exited. The sign next to the gate was routinely ignored.

I was there for Memorial Day weekend and there were security guards posted at the gates on Sunday and Monday, and people without wristbands were turned away. Once the holiday crowds left, so did the guards.
